THE ULTIMATE COTTAGE LAWNMOWER

Yes it’s a 15 year old Craftsman rear bag mulching mower.

It burns straight gas (and just a hint of oil from the crankcase)

Still running after all these years.

Notice the large turf tires for protecting the delicate northern hinterland.

Notice that the deck is the same colour as duct tape. This could be an omen.

Very simple to start.

Give the primer bulb 3 or 4 pumps (only when cold), Set the throttle to “Rabbit”, squeeze the deadman and the handle together, and pull the cord that says “Pull to start”.

The next noise you hear will be that of the delicate northern hinterland being shaved to within an inch of it’s life.

To stop the noise and the shaving simply release the deadman.

Using the rear bag is strongly recommended since the rear mulching plate seems to have large rust hole in it.

We can fix that with some tin, a few rivets, and several beers.

It goes well with all the other rust holes.

Maybe we should install fenders with some more tin, a box of rivets, and a whole lot more beers.

A cup holder would be nice too!

A special thanks to Don Boynowski for his generous donation to “The Great Northern Mower Graveyard”.

3 and counting!
